Alexia is an award-winning journalist who was born in Kuwait and grew up in Egypt and the U.S.
She attended the University of California, Berkeley’s Graduate School of Journalism and studied Arabic at the American University of Cairo, and has worked as an editor for Vox and an executive producer for Al Jazeera. She’s passionate about bringing teams together to create good journalism, and also writes about international politics, literary culture and many other things. Her work has appeared in Bloomberg Businessweek, The Guardian, The Nation, The Paris Review (online) and elsewhere, and has been taught in nonfiction graduate seminars. Alexia holds an MFA from The New School, and attended the Sewanee Writers’ Conference and received support from the Bread Loaf Environmental Writers’ Conference. She’s currently at work on a book.
